NOMAD is a collaborative project of three contemporary artsits:
Amenun Geneva (painting), AndonastY (textile graphics) and Raya Karpacheva (fashion design).
Show opens 7 pm, 17,January, 2017 at Vivacom Art Hall and will be on until 29, January, 2017.
They all consider themselves urban nomads/ vagabonds/ wanderers - people, who do not live a standard, settled life. They don’t wake up in the morning, opening the already well-known win- dow. They either don’t breathe-in the aroma of coffee, comfortably set up in their grandma’s slippers. Nowadays these are the so-called NOMADS. Those who don’t have a break. The people, who, without any fear, suspicion or thought, just set forth from a place to place. In the beginning they were called “collectors” quite on purpose. They are the ones to transfer and mingle one culture with another, as well as to exchange information, science and crafts.
It was their mission. The great lot of miles for water, food and fur, turned later into a good distance away, with the only purpose of a single book, dexterity or a song. As if we have, nowadays, forgotten about the original mission of those people. Some of them achieve it mentally, others – physically. Nevertheless, the one and only thing of greatest importance to a Nomad still remains the Route.
This wandering has bound all three young artists together as they have bravely given definition to their direction. Though without a compass, Fortune has joined them together in the exact instant, day and year – Amenun Geneva, Raya Karpacheva and Andon Georgiev – also known as AndonastY.
NOMAD is the name of their feuilleton, envisaging an incessant adventure.
