" FRAGMENTATION"

The installation recreates and condenses the breakdown of society—its fragmentation—by "splitting" the self between opposing values and emotions. Human wandering in extremes, the pendulum of personal and collective emotions, is reflected in a "special" mirror of infinity. Two semi-heads, half-faces, represent two polar emotions. The viewer sees themselves among them in the infinite mirror. Together, they transform into a crowd with endlessly alternating emotions. The installation consists of two sculptures of semi-heads placed in a mirrored cube chamber. The two sculptures portray joy and anger. Cut in half and positioned side by side, their reflections in the mirrored walls of the cube make them appear whole.
The artist's experiment with this "kaleidoscopic" approach is an attempt to evolve his own style. Until now, his work has focused primarily on sculpture, and this experience marks a step into the realm of installation art.
"Fragmentation" aligns with contemporary artworks where the experience itself is paramount, often surpassing the significance of the final appearance of the piece. PXRN's projects explore themes of creativity, human fears and phobias, possibilities, and the self-imposed limitations we often attribute to external factors such as the environment, society, or artificial intelligence. These topics are both timely and uncomfortable, much like Drago's works. They draw us in, and once immersed in their essence, we see our own reflections as humans in our solitary, troubling, and uncertain existence.
